CHRONIC FATIQUE SYNDROME (CSF)

CHRONIC FATIQUE : GENTLE, EFFECTIVE, DRUGLESS MANAGEMENT OF A COMPLEX DISORDER

DR. STRASSER TREATS CHRONIC FATIQUE BY ADDRESSING THE NEUROLOGICAL, MECHANICAL AND NUTRITIONAL FACTORS THAT LOWER THE BODY'S CRITICAL THRESHOLD FOR CSF.

Chronic Fatique is now being recognized as a significant condition that can have a marked impact on daily living. Dr. Strasser has over 20 years of experience helping patients manage Chronic Fatigue. He views chronic fatique as a threshold disorder.

People with chronic fatique have sensitive nervous systems that are prone to episodes of generalized fatique, often accompanied by muscular symptoms and depression. These episodes occur when the nervous systems threshold is lowered, or the demands on the nervous system are so intense that the threshold is overwhelmed.

You might think of a threshold as a levee. Under normal circumstances the levee holds back the water. However, if for some reason the levee is lowered, or if there is too much water, the levee can be breached. The result is a flood. If you have chronic fatique, your "flood" is the nervous system being triggered to a type of neurological storm causing your fatigue symptoms.

What causes your threshold to lower? The most important factors are:

  • Structural and neurological fixations or restrictions (such as spinal joint restrictions, and chronic trigger points and disturbances in neurological signal points)
  • Hormonal imbalances ( like those associated with PMS),
  • Blood sugar problems (such as hypoglycemia or episodes of low blood sugar),
  • Sleep disorders,
  • Chronic or overwhelming stress including stress from work and relationships
  • Chronic nervous system imbalances and abnormal neurological feedback loops
  • Emotional disturbances and conditions

Dr. Strasser has over 20 years of experience helping patients manage Chronic Fatigue. By evaluating each individual patient for threshold factors and determining what might be lowering or overwhelmng their threshold to chronic fatique, Dr. Strasser establishes an integrated approach to management.

Dr. Strasser combines gentle chiropractic approaches, cranial therapy, nutrition, selected individualized supplements and stress-reduction strategies to help you reduce incidents of chronic fatique and significantly lower the intensity of episodes.

Dr. Strasser regularly works with other health professionals, and refers as necessary, to provide you with a team-approach to chronic fatique.

We are always available to answer questions you may have regarding Dr. Strasser's approach to treating Chronic Fatigue.
