ABOUT DR. STRASSER

strasser

Dr. Arn Strasser has been a chiropractor for over 20 years. He received his BA and MA from Michigan State University, a Masters in Architecture from the University of Oregon, and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College. He completed his internship at the Western States Oupatient Clinic. He has speciality training in the Cox disc protocol, Sacro-Occipital technique, Gentle and Non-Force Chiropractic, Cranial Therapy for adults and children, and Gentle Chiropractic Care of Children, Adolescents and infants.

He was first introduced to chiropractic in the early 1970's when a persistent headache was treated in a single treatment by a woman chiropractor in Oakland, California. He was later part of a program that was studying the benefit of combining chiropractic, nutrition and tai-chi to promote wellness and prevention.

These influences helped to excite him about the health potential of chiropractic care. The drugless, whole person approach of chiropractic care and its emphasis on treating the nervous system, was especially important in choosing a chiropractic career.

Dr. Strasser studied under Dr. Jack Daugherty, Dr. Allan Dangerfield, Dr. James Cox, Dr. Len Fay and number of other clinicians. He was an assistant to Dr. Daugherty in developing a approach based on mechanics for teaching chiropractic manipulation.

Dr. Strasser began his private practice in Portland, Oregon specializing in family chiropractic and natural care. He taught at Western States as an adjunct professor and was a post-graduate lecturer at Northwestern Chiropractic College.

Dr. Strasser is the author of numerous articles on chiropractic management of neck and back pain, non-surgical care of neck and low back disc injuries, the treatment of children, migraine and headaches and pain management. He is a senior editor of the spine specialist site, Spine Universe.com. He is a professional member of the International Headache Society. SELF magazine named Dr. Strasser one of the 27 most curative chiropractors in the country, based on input from other chiropractors and the chiropractic associations.

Dr. Strasser presently practices at the Strasser Chiropractic Center in Portland, Oregon.
